MTV - Transportation Tax in Turkey

✨ Planning to buy a car in Turkey? Learn all about the MTV (Motorlu Taşıtlar Vergisi) transportation tax, which is payable from the moment the vehicle is registered until it is canceled. Good news: cars with foreign license plates are exempt from this tax!

📊 How is the tax calculated?  
The amount of MTV depends on the engine displacement, age, type and value of the car, as well as the date of first registration. Rates may change annually due to inflation and revaluation.

📅 When and how do I pay the MTV?  
The tax is paid twice a year:  
1️⃣ January 1 through January 31  
2️⃣ July 1 through July 31

💳 Payment methods:  
1. Online at dijital.gib.gov.tr (section "MTV VE TRAFİK CEZASI ÖDEMESİ").  
2. At the tax office or PTT offices.  
3. At bank branches or via internet banking of contract banks.

Don't forget to pay the second payment by July 31 to avoid penalties. Timely payment is a guarantee of peace of mind and absence of unnecessary expenses!
